November 1967: Our founder, John Snyder, started the firm in November 1967 as a partnership. Over the years, the firm ebbed and flowed, with new partners, new locations and various iterations of the firm.
September 1984: Company merges with another Lancaster firm and moves to 110 E. Main St.
December 1, 1991: John Snyder and Susie Freeland form Snyder, Freeland & Company. Many of the staff with the original firm move with John and Susie. Company opens office at 415 E. Main St.
June 1997: Company moves to third floor of the Fairfield Federal Building, corner of Main and Broad streets.
2000: Susie Freeland leaves the company to teach accounting at Ohio University.
January 2001: Linda Sheridan is admitted as a partner. Firm name changes to Snyder & Company.
December 2003: Snyder & Company moves to 129 W. Chestnut St., adding accessibility and convenience for clients.
August 2004: Victor Christopher is admitted as the newest partner.
June 2013: Vic and Linda took over continued leadership of the firm.
Present Day: Victor and Linda continue to ensure the firm’s growth into the next generation with the same personalized services and core values John began his practice with more than 45 years ago.

1936-2013
John graduated from The Ohio State University in 1966. He enjoyed every moment of retirement, just like he enjoyed every moment of his career. He cherished the numerous long-term relationships with staff and clients he had accumulated over the years. He stayed connected to the firm to keep his partners in line and was always available to help steer the ship through the wisdom he gained over the years.
Personal passions: interests included boating, golfing and was an avid gun collector.
Quirky tidbit: Convinced that the computer in his office was actually an Etch-a-Sketch.
Favorite Phrase: "I’m jake with that”
Credentials: During his career he was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Valuation Analyst and was Accredited in Business Valuations by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
He previously served the community as:
· Trustee for the Fairfield Medical Center
· President of the Lancaster-Sherman Rotary Club
· Instructor of tax and accounting classes at Ohio University
· Numerous other non-profit and fraternal organizations
