FROM THE HEARTS OF SNYDER & COMPANY
Like all of you, we have watched with a mix of many emotions, sadness, disbelief, frustration, and even a bit of hope, at the events that have unfolded in recent weeks in our great nation that was founded on, and blessed by God. We have received countless blessings as a nation, and we are reminded of Christ's words: "To whom much is given, much will be required" (Luke 12:48)
An untold number of Americans have died in our short 240 years as a nation, protecting the liberty and freedom of individuals, regardless of race or creed. They died protecting our right to have and express our own opinions, and to pursue happiness in our lives. But happiness for all is only achieved when we stand together, as a family, as a community, as a nation, to care for our neighbors as ourselves. We are better than this! We have to show that to our children, grandchildren, generations yet to come, and to the entire world. This is our chance to change our thoughts, words and actions - and by doing so, to change our world.
John Snyder founded this firm on the Golden Rule, treating everyone as he wanted to be treated. I am proud that Vic and I and our team aspire to live this daily. We will challenge each other to grow through these events, and live even more true to this principal. It is time to start the conversation.
As a first step, we are joining other community leaders to support the Fairfield County Foundation's newly established Fairfield County Diversity, Inclusion and Empowerment Fund that will foster conversation, collaboration and action in our local community. We are also working to identify other opportunities to take action as individuals and as a company. We encourage and challenge you to do the same.
